Past Projects
Rumi House and Education Centre

From 2008 to 2012 Tents4Peace established a half way house for destitute children and their mothers. This house supported many widows and over twenty five children at a time.

Fazila Tasmim was the instigator in setting this project up when she visited Aghanistan during 2008 and again in 2009.

Fazila's long term friend Rahila, a qualified teacher, ran both the school, the community centre and the home for children. She and her family did a stirling job and we will be forever grateful for them holding the project together under such difficult circumstances.

The Community House within Rumi House was used for a daily education centre to teacher both women and children basis education. The women were as keen as the children. Below is a picture depicting a group of women waiting in the hot sun to catch an hours education.

At the end of 2012 the whole complex was moved to a house owned by Sidiq Rawi of Mahboba's Promise, where our wonderful Rahila and her family continued to run this project until Rahalias retirement in 2012 due to ill health.
