Disabled Children and Women

On almost every street in Kabul and throughout Afghanistan the aftermath of war, terror and poverty has produced a child not only in poverty, but disabilities of many kinds. Many mothers are left traumatised as a result of the dreadful environment and abuse they have suffered.

In the harsh realities of Afghanistan the welfare of these children and women are not considered a priority for those who struggle themselves, or by authority or organisations that are overwhelmed by many other issues

Tents4peace cannot turn away and these blessed ones need our help to show these is hope in an otherwise cruel world.

Our vision is to integrate these children and women into their communities by programs personalised around their needs. For example,  a child who is bedridden or a mother who has mental health issues so extreme she cannot care for her family, need immediate medical assistance and emotional support.

Our vision is to set up systems where home visits and home assistance are given at all levels. Special education programs are needed to give these children a future. Special programs need to be implemented to overcome feeling of isolation and differences.

We do no believe in institutionalising these children or women ( unless they are a danger to themselves and others) but much support is needed to shower them with our humanity and compassion.

Let us aspire to be more for the sake of these children and women. A measure of our humanity and our civilisation can be assessed on how we help or ignore those in these unfortunate situations.

The problem is huge and we seek your support in obtaining corporate donation to continue to grow this work.

The children are often examples of how hope can sustain the human spirit when precious little remains. The radiance on their beautiful faces despite much trauma is a humbling experience to those more fortune. That is their gift to us.

Please join with us to give them back something in return.
