PRESS RELEASE JULY 2014
"Visit to Afghanistan ~ Inspires  Ramadan Appeal"

Fazila Tasmim, Executive Officer, 'Tents for Peace International', recently returned from Afghanistan.

She reports that the poverty level of women and children living in the squalor of 'Tent Cities' on the outskirts of Kabul has reached a crisis point.

Fazila said "There is so much uncertainty in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of troops and the ones suffering the most, women and children, are those who have no homes or basis necessities."

"So many children do not have warm clothes, basis nourishment or shelter, let alone heating, sanitation or running water.  As the world moves on to another crisis, the poverty stricken women and children in Afghanistan struggle to survive and they feel so alone".

Tents4Peace International, an award winning charity working successfully in Afghanistan since 2005, will this Ramadan fundraise to tackle the wretchness of those who live in these 'Tent Cities'.

Your donation of $100 will buy a "Care Package" consisting of clothes, food and heating fuel for a destitute family, this Ramadan.

Feedback from the Fundraising Dinner:

Sheila and Nina
"My friends and I really enjoyed the presentations and dinner on Saturday night.

Thank you for your dedication to the women and children on Kabul and for your compassionate  and loving nature.

It was heartbreaking to see your face become progressively more sad as the video went on and to see the precious hugs you received from women in desperate need."

John Gulzari
